We’ve Made Beaumont Brilliant!

We’ve made Beaumont Brilliant!

In 2019, we ran a fundraising campaign, codenamed Make Beaumont Brilliant, to support the creation of a new library and study centre at Upper School. Thanks to the generosity of Archer families and members of the wider community, we were able to raise the £150,000 we needed, and the library was officially opened in December 2019.

Featuring speeches by Ms Harrison and actor, Steve McFadden, the event was an opportunity to celebrate the parents, donors and staff who have worked so hard to make the library a reality.  Author and donor Anne-Marie Conway was in attendance, and student and professional musicians entertained the guests. Student readings of ‘Love Letters to Libraries’ by Michael Morpurgo, Jacqueline Wilson, and Alexander McCall Smith emphasised the importance of libraries and reading.

Which book inspired you to read as a young person? We are asking the community to donate a copy of their special book to our new library at Upper School (ages 14-16). Please bring donations to either Upper School or Lower School reception and fill in one of our bookplates with your name and a message.

Miss Harrison donated The Handmaid’s Tale and To Kill A Mocking Bird. Actor, Steve McFadden donated The Complete Works of Shakespeare.
