Bloke of Steel visit

Year 8 enjoyed an informative and witty talk last week about comics and graphic novels from Mr. Paul Register, self-styled Bloke of Steel. Paul used to be a librarian and is book-crazy. His greatest passion is comic books and manga. His enthusiasm for the genre spilled over into the hall where Year 8 sat enthralled. Paul had even brought his light sabre as a pointer. His demonstration of the simple use of line and punctuation to totally change the meaning of an image and sentence was compelling. Archer students left the talk persuaded that the whole world of comics and graphic novels was a world worth entering and exploring.
