London Dance Champions

In what was set to be a fierce competition, schools representing 24 boroughs came together on Wednesday at the CopperBox Arena to compete for first place in the London Youth Games dance competition. The Archer Academy had already competed in an earlier round to represent their borough and had won both the both the Junior (years 8 and 9) and Senior (year 10) categories to represent Barnet in the London finals.
The groups performed two very different pieces, one a powerful and forceful dance about catching a light and the other an emotional dance about connections and relationships. Both groups faced tough competition from the other London boroughs but were ecstatic to win first place in both categories. This is the first time a Barnet school has won the London wide competition and also the first time a school has won gold in both categories. Well done to all the dancers and staff on such a fantastic result
