Bowled over by England Cricket Captain

We were delighted to welcome England Women’s captain, Heather Knight to school last week. Heather was able to squeeze us in to her hectic schedule that has involved tours of Sri Lanka, the West Indies and Australia. After a couple of weeks back in the UK, Heather now flies back to Australia to play in the Big Bash league for Hobart Hurricanes.

Heather said spoke to our GCSE PE students and other selected students from our sports teams and gave her views on a wide range of topics including sports psychology, diet, injury prevention, the evolution of professional women’s sport and how she was able to progress from playing as a 12 year old in an open age men’s team through to taking the reins as England captain in June of this year.
