An exciting reading project with Brookland Junior School has been taking shape over the last few months. A group of students from Year 8 have undertaken paired reading with a group of Year 4s, and the two schools have visited each other several times.

Caitlin, Gabby, Emily, Sorcha, Caspar, Jameel, Teo and Felix chose an exciting, short novel called Emil and the Detectives to read and discuss. The younger children found the story and setting intriguing. There was plenty of fun getting to know each other and acting out scenes from the book.

Each school produced a scrap book documenting the work each time they met. Celebration assemblies will be taking place in the near future and we look forward to carrying out more such projects.
