Peer Mentoring Scheme – with thanks to the Friends Association

The Lower School Prefects have had an incredible impact on Archer Academy life over the past term and a half since their appointment in October. They have thoroughly enjoyed exercising their leadership skills to improve life and learning at the Archer Academy.

A particular highlight was that they were incredibly fortunate to receive training on peer mentoring from an external provider, thanks to funding provided by The Friends Association. This training has helped them to develop new skills and provide support to Year 7 students to overcome challenges in their first year of their secondary education; be them academic or pastoral.

It has been wonderful to see their leadership develop and some long lasting relationships form between year groups which will continue to be of mutual benefit for both the Year 9s and Year 7s as they move through the school. Well done everyone.
